on centres of excellence. This principle is applied to milling
and feed supply, breeder rearing, laying and hatcheries and
broiler production.
Our broiler operation is divided into
standard and specialist. Specialist includes free range, organic
and corn fed. Centres of excellence allow our partners to
invest in modern state of the art equipment and to apply best
principles in terms of animal welfare and food safety.

All elements of the supply chain have
to adhere to our strict protocols together with customer specifications
and codes of practice. They are independently and regularly
audited.
Food safety standards and HACCP
principles apply across the agriculture operation and consumers
can be assured of the provenance and traceability of our chicken.
 
Our free range chickens live on farms
characterised by a woodland setting. Natural management techniques
have been used to simulate their natural environment. A special
slow growing breed the Sherwood White has been developed for
this husbandry system.

Our organic birds live in colonies
of 500 and are free to roam in surrounding pasture. A unique
slow growing breed the Sherwood Gold has been developed for
this husbandry system. It provides consumers with superior
taste and yield.
We manage a fully integrated operation
and our in house auditors ensure the highest standards of
food safety, bird health and welfare are maintained across
every function.
